Country Dialogue Launch in Senegal
The Effective Institutions Platform launched its first Country Dialogue for Using and Strengthening Local Systems in Senegal. The EIP Joint Secretariat and CABRI completed a preparatory mission to Senegal to meet with government officials involved in the use of country systems (Ministry of Finance, Line Ministries of Health and Education, Court of Audits) and development partners (WB, USAID, EU, GIZ, UNDP).
The meetings allowed a preliminary identification of the crucial themes that need to be discussed in order to increase the use of country systems. The inception report digs further into these issues, providing evidence-based knowledge as grounds to identify solutions in the short and long term, as well as immediate opportunities for progress (quick-wins that matter).
The rationale for this initiative is to identify a common path for delivering on Busan indicators and to overcome the blockages experienced so far on the commitment to the use of country systems by bringing high-level support from partner countries and DAC member states.
